This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel cultureInspect equipment for signs of wearPerform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipmentWork in a team environmentClean work areasManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positionsProper wear of personal protective equipmentNotify supervisors of repairs neededEnsure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirementsAssist in plant maintenance and repairsPerform duties with minimum supervision
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent1+ years of related experienceValid US driver’s license
Skills:
Ability to work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of MSHA regulationsEffective verbal communicationKnowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Physical Abilities
Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-roundGeneral physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
