Title: Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

Compensation: $44.19 per hour


Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support a large‑scale, highly automated distribution and packaging operation in Fontana, CA. This individual will act as a senior technical resource within the maintenance organization, leading troubleshooting efforts, supporting automation reliability, and driving preventative maintenance programs.

This role focuses on advanced diagnostics and repair of automated material handling systems, robotics, conveyors, and PLC‑controlled equipment. The Senior Technician will also serve as a mentor to junior and contract technicians, assist with vendor coordination, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system upgrades. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, operational excellence, and teamwork in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience working with material handling equipment (MHE), including automated conveyors and controls
  • 4+ years of experience performing preventative maintenance
  • 4+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics
  • 3+ years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • 2+ years of experience working with PLC programs
  • Experience in a senior technician or team lead capacity, supporting and mentoring technicians
  • Prior vendor management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, using aerial lifts, and working in a warehouse environment

Nice to Have:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline
  • Hands‑on experience with robotics operation and maintenance
