Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Orlando. In this role, you will work alongside scientists and engineers on a variety of projects, including land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill, and municipal solid waste landfill projects. You will need to follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and company protocols while exercising independent judgment to complete tasks and projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain groundwater remediation systems.
  • Oversee well installations.
  • Conduct groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling.
  • Monitor air and vapor conditions.
  • Maintain detailed field notes.
  • Participate in Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental fieldwork, particularly on brownfield projects.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting machine parts and basic electrical work.
  • Proficient in interpreting and understanding SID and NPDES permits requirements.
  • Skilled in conducting environmental field services in industrial settings.
  • Familiar with collecting, documenting, and preparing SID and NPDES samples for shipment.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and solid judgment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in environmental remediation.
  • Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
  • Capability to walk long distances, including climbing stairs and ladders.
Work Environment

This role involves working in outdoor conditions, often independently. You will receive assignments from Project Managers and report administratively to an assigned supervisor. Your day will typically involve picking up equipment from the office, driving to your assigned site, and carrying equipment such as a 25lb cooler, shovel, and hand auger across large sites. A company or rental vehicle will be provided for site visits.

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
