The Davey Resource Group (DRG) is currently hiring certified arborists, professional foresters, horticulturalists, natural resource specialists, environmental scientists, GIS technicians, and plant and outdoor enthusiasts to join our workforce.
Job Duties
Work with a major electric/gas utility provider and address its natural resource management and forestry needs, including daily coordination with client representatives
Perform audits around utility infrastructure to verify hazardous vegetation and conditions otherwise incompatible with utility standards and state and federal regulations are properly identified and mitigated
Compile, analyze, and distribute statistically valid reports concerning work audited
Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and GPS navigation, and utilize GIS applications
Communicate with public and private stakeholders regarding vegetation and other natural resource-related utility operations
Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews, including crew oversight and supervision
Identify, document, track, and help resolve environmental and other project-specific constraints
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work site
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Thrives on adaptation, continual learning and training, and is detail-oriented
Possess knowledge of local tree species, and species-specific growth rates and failure patterns
Has the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
Is a great communicator and team player
ISA Certified Arborist or can become an ISA Certified Arborist within 18 months
ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified
Two or four-year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline
Qualified Applicators License
Related work experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Quality Assurance / Quality Control Experience
Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle on rough roads
High School Diploma or Equivalent
