WSP is excited to announce an opportunity for an Environmental Service Line Leader position within our Texas/Louisiana practice. This senior leadership position will oversee our Site Investigation and Remediation teams throughout the region. This position can be located in the follow locations or in close proximity: Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX: San Antonio, Texas; New Orleans, LA or Baton Rouge, LA.
The Service Line Leader – Site Investigation & Remediation (SIR) is responsible for providing technical, operational, and strategic leadership for WSP’s Site Investigation and Remediation service line. The role ensures client satisfaction, technical excellence, financial performance, and sustainable growth of the SIR practice in alignment with WSP’s business objectives and values.
The Service Line Leader serves as WSP’s senior technical and market-facing authority for Site Investigation and Remediation services, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while fostering innovation, safety, and quality across projects.
Your Impact
- Technical & Service Line Leadership
- Act as the technical reference and subject matter leader for Site Investigation and Remediation within WSP.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, technically sound, and compliant remediation and investigation solutions across projects.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory frameworks, remediation technologies, emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS), brownfield redevelopment, and legacy environmental liabilities.
- Engage with WSP’s global technical networks to leverage expertise and innovation.
- Client & Market Leadership
- Serve as a senior client interface for key SIR clients, supporting client satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Partner with Business Development and Key Client Account leads to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the SIR market.
- Represent WSP externally as a recognized leader in Site Investigation and Remediation services.
Support proposal development, scope definition, pricing strategy, and risk management for major pursuits.
- Project & Financial Performance
- Oversee the technical and financial performance of SIR projects in collaboration with Project Managers and Unit Leadership.
- Monitor and support adherence to project budgets, schedules, margins, and contractual requirements.
- Contribute to achieving service line revenue, utilization, and profitability targets.
Provide technical review and guidance on complex or high-risk projects as required.
- People & Resource Leadership
- Collaborate with Resource Leaders and Unit Leaders to ensure appropriate staffing, capability development, and succession planning for the SIR service line.
- Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-performing SIR professionals.
Champion WSP’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture across all SIR activities.
- Strategy, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Site Investigation & Remediation service line at the regional and/or national level.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to technical delivery, efficiency, innovation, and quality management.
- Support integration of global best practices, digital tools, and data-driven approaches within SIR services.
- Engage with WSP’s global technical networks to leverage expertise and innovation.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Site Investigation & Remediation.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex environmental investigation and remediation projects.
- Strong client relationship management and business development experience.
- Proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Texas or Louisiana professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.), or ability and willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing complex projects and large teams
- Experience managing the overall delivery of projects, including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management
- Detailed understanding of soil and groundwater remediation regulations
- Detailed understanding of Texas and Louisiana regulations
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Ability and willingness to travel within region and occasionally outside region
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in a service line, discipline, or practice leadership role.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers
