Pride Health is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.
Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: St. Paul, MN (On-Site)
Job Type: Contract
Length: 12-Months
Hours: 40 hours/wk, 8 hours/day
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $26.65 per hour
Description:
- Division EHS Contact for assigned divisions within Company Center R&D community
- Lead EHS risk assessments including escalating to additional subject matter experts as needed
- Serve as hazardous waste coordinator including updating waste stream profiles for new materials, planning for lab clean-out days, and connecting researchers with guidance for miscellaneous waste types.
- Lead routine EHS inspections
- Track EHS activities such as action items and pending approvals
- Maintain active communication channels within EHS team and with researchers
- Share information with applicable team members including escalation of issues, sharing successes and noticed trends.
- Activities to support EHS programs related to risk assessment and control, including personal protective equipment
- Resource will support mostly support office functions for incidents, assessments, documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (ideal discipline; technical/science/engineering/EHS)
- Prior experience in R&D settings, ideally seeking 2-3+ years of experience.
- Technical, industrial, chemistry, or environmental health and safety experience
- Willingness to learn risk assessment processes and databases/tools
- Strong communication skills
