Position Overview

SAVI EHS is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety operations within an active manufacturing facility undergoing construction, equipment installation, and fabrication activities. This position requires a safety professional who can effectively bridge both construction and general industry safety requirements while supporting contractors, fabrication personnel, and plant operations.


The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or construction environments and possess a strong understanding of both OSHA Construction (29 CFR 1926) and OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910) standards. This individual will provide daily field-level safety support, conduct inspections, assist with compliance initiatives, and help maintain a safe work environment within an operating facility.


Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections of construction, fabrication, and manufacturing work areas.

• Monitor contractor and employee activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.

• Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning meetings, and daily hazard assessments.

• Support safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee safety training initiatives.

• Perform routine audits of work permits, Lockout/Tagout activities, hot work operations, fall protection systems, and other high-risk tasks.

• Identify hazards, document findings, and assist project leadership with corrective actions and follow-up activities.

• Participate in incident investigations and near-miss reporting while supporting root-cause analysis efforts.

• Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and compliance tracking logs.

• Serve as a visible safety presence throughout the facility, promoting safe work practices and a proactive safety culture.

• Coordinate with plant management, contractors, supervisors, and project teams to ensure safe execution of ongoing operations and construction activities.


Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or maintenance environments.

• OSHA 30 Construction required.

• OSHA 30 General Industry required.

• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards.

• Experience conducting field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety observations.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with contractors, craft personnel, supervisors, and plant leadership.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within active manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, automotive, pharmaceutical, food processing, or similar operating facilities.

• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Hot Work, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, and Permit-Required Confined Space programs.

• OSHA 510, OSHA 511, CHST, STSC, ASP, or other safety certifications preferred.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.

• Previous experience supporting facility expansions, equipment installations, fabrication operations, maintenance projects, or shutdown/turnaround activities is highly desirable.
