An advanced engineering and technology programme operating at the cutting edge of nuclear, laser, and high-precision industrial systems is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, safety, radiological, and laser safety programmes across its operations.


This is a high-impact leadership role, responsible for shaping safety strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a strong, proactive safety culture within a complex, high-hazard environment.


What you’ll be doing:

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Lead and continuously improve site-wide EHS programmes (industrial safety, chemical hygiene, LOTO, PPE, confined space, etc.)
  • Own the laser safety programme (Class 3B/4), including hazard analysis, controls, SOPs, and training
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NRC, DOE, EPA, and state regulations
  • Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Deliver training programmes for employees and contractors


Radiological & Nuclear Safety

  • Partner with Health Physics to implement radiation protection and ALARA principles
  • Support compliance with nuclear material handling and processing regulations
  • Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections and audits


Environmental & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (RCRA, CAA, CWA, etc.)
  • Oversee hazardous and radioactive waste management
  • Lead sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives


Emergency Preparedness

  • Own the site emergency response programme, including drills and coordination with authorities
  • Work closely with security and external agencies on response planning


Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and develop the EHS function
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation
  • Influence stakeholders from shop floor to senior leadership


What we’re looking for:

  • 7+ years’ experience in EHS within a regulated industrial, nuclear, or advanced manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NRC (10 CFR), and DOT regulations
  • Proven experience building EHS programmes, conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Background in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, Health Physics, or similar


Highly desirable:

  • Experience in nuclear fuel cycle, uranium processing, or enrichment environments
  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHP, CHMM, or Laser Safety (CLSO)
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems
  • Understanding of laser safety systems and radiological controls
