Job Title: Chemical Compounder (Entry-Level / Science Graduate)

Job Description

The Chemical Compounder is an entry-level role ideal for recent science graduates looking to begin their career in a laboratory and manufacturing environment. In this position, you will support the preparation of chemical product batches by following detailed formulation sheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will gain hands-on experience weighing, mixing, and blending raw materials while learning GMP standards, quality control practices, and safe chemical handling. The role works closely with lab technicians and supervisors as part of a small, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical batches by following formulation sheets, SOPs, and batch records under supervision
  • Accurately weigh, measure, mix, and blend raw materials to support consistent product quality
  • Assist with batch making and batch mixing for personal care, nutraceutical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods products
  • Operate basic mixing and production equipment safely after training
  • Receive, label, and organize raw materials according to SOPs and safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation for batch records, inventory tracking, and production activities
  • Monitor production batches and report any irregularities or deviations to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and production workspace
  • Follow all GMP, safety, and quality procedures while handling chemicals and equipment
  • Work closely with lab technicians, compounders, and supervisors to support daily production goals
  • Assist with additional production or lab tasks as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related science field
  • Hands-on laboratory experience gained through coursework, academic labs, internships, or entry-level roles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written instructions and SOPs
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices and chemical handling
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clear documentation
  • Willingness to learn GMP standards and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily job duties
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to build hands-on industry experience

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in a GMP, laboratory, or manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to compounding, mixing, blending, or batch production (academic or professional)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or lab equipment such as mixers, blenders, or batch systems
  • Interest in personal care, nutraceutical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods manufacturing

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, structured laboratory and manufacturing facility operating under GMP standards and established SOPs. You will work closely with a small team of approximately 6–8 people, including experienced compounders and lab technicians who provide training and support. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch and one 15-minute paid break. The position involves standing, handling chemicals, operating equipment, and occasional lifting in a safety-focused, well-organized environment. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $31.25/hr.
