Position Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for you to utilize your passion for science and engineering degree while working on civil/environmental engineering projects including: solid waste management, landfill design, geotechnical engineering, stormwater design, hydrologic modeling, grading and topographic plans, environmental permitting, environmental monitoring, drafting (AutoCAD/CIVIL 3D), cost estimation, specifications, report preparation (Word/Excel), and construction quality assurance (CQA).

Essential Job Functions:

•� � � � Prepare plans and specifications.�
•� � � � Perform engineering design calculations.�
•� � � � Analyze reports, maps, drawings, environmental data, and aerial photographs.�
•� � � � Prepare environmental monitoring plans.�
•� � � � Draft construction plans using AutoCAD and CIVIL 3D.�
•� � � � Prepare construction cost estimations.�
•� � � � Collect and/or review environmental monitoring data (air, gas, stormwater, groundwater).�
•� � � � Prepare environmental reports.�
•� � � � Oversee construction projects to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.�

Required Qualifications:
•� � � � Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Geological Engineering.
•� � � � F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) Completion required.�
•� � � � Strong verbal and written communication skills.�
•� � � � Solid organizational and time management skills.�
•� � � � Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment.�
•� � � � A positive attitude and willingness to learn.�
•� � � � Unwavering personal integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:
•� � � � Experience in a civil or environmental engineering role preferred (e.g., internship and/or co-operative experiences).�
•� � � � Experience in landfill design, permitting, or environmental monitoring.
•� � � � Knowledge of environmental regulations a plus.

Physical Requirements:
•� � � � Regularly requires sitting for extended periods while driving or riding in a vehicle; occasional standing and walking throughout the project site environment.
•� � � � Regularly required to stand and walk during field assignments, including walking on uneven terrain and steep slopes (3:1 or 2:1 grade).
•� � � � Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, typing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, hearing, tasting, and smelling.
•� � � � Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50+ lbs occasionally.
•� � � � Requires specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; extended computer screen use is necessary.
•� � � � Fieldwork may involve travel and exposure to outdoor environments; must be physically able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator when required.
•� � � � An annual medical exam may be required based on the nature of the field assignment.
