Insight Global is looking for an Engineer I to work fully in office in the south Clearwater, FL area, with interest in learning the electrical power distribution & utilities engineering industry. This a 4 month contract-to-hire, meaning you will be converted full time (which includes PTO, Holiday Pay, etc.) after 4 months!


Please note, this role is for post-graduation with a completed ABET Accredited Bachelors Degree. Must be able to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime office hours, and fully in office in south Clearwater, FL. THIS IS NOT PART TIME OR HYBIRD/REMOTE, AND NOT AN INTERNSHIP.


Job Summary:

Engineer I is the first level of the Engineering classification. Will provide engineering/technical expertise to solve problems in a specific area of expertise, with close supervision. For example: engineers may be assigned to projects requiring utility pole design mapping, which they will use all provided information to digitally create design "distribution" maps within CAD programs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
  • Thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches Will be responsible for gathering all the drawing that the field techs collect and automating those drawings.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime hours (such as M-F 8am-5pm) in south Clearwater, FL
  • Completed Bachelors Degree in any Engineering field of study, from an ABET accredited Engineering program
  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation (own vehicle preferred)
  • Minimum 0-2 years of relevant professional, internship, or undergraduate coursework experience, related to Electrical/Mechanical/Civil or similar Engineering or similar is a plus, but not required
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Solidworks, or similar CAD design tool preferred - will be trained on company specific software!
  • Having an interest in learning about the power distribution & utilities design engineering industry utility terminology (transformers, kilowatts, voltages, transmission, etc.) - will be trained on industry specific terminology!
