Description

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is hiring Enrichment Camp Counselors to support our summer camp specialty programs. In this role, Counselors will supervise campers, assist with specialty activities, and help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that enhances the overall camp experience.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing YMCA located just five miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy. Since 1912, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA has proudly served the evolving needs of our community. Today, we support more than 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area through programs and initiatives focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and actively engage a group of campers within specialty program areas.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with campers, families, and staff.
  • Support daily operations, including check-in/check-out procedures, attendance tracking, set-up, and clean-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting.
  • Ability to support structured activities and manage groups of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR/AED certified or willing to obtain.
