Calvert Hall seeks a dynamic, student-centered English teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature, writing, and communication and will inspire young men to think critically, write clearly, and engage thoughtfully. Additionally, the candidate should be able to teach a wide range of courses, such as American and British literature, Prose/Poetry, and possibly Advanced Placement (AP).
We place a strong emphasis on building community beyond the classroom. Therefore, strong preference will be given to candidates who are enthusiastic about participating in our co-curricular programs—including athletics, academic teams, clubs, campus ministry, or student activities.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Demonstrated effectiveness in secondary English instruction
- Commitment to the Lasallian Catholic mission of the school
Preferred
- Master’s degree in English, Education, or related discipline
- Maryland Teaching Certification or eligibility
- Experience with differentiated instruction and educational technology
- Familiarity with Lasallian pedagogy and all-boys education
- Willingness and ability to lead or support co-curricular activities
COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $44,500 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This position is eligible for full-time benefits, including personal and sick leave benefits.
