Great opportunity for a, Engineering Manager to work for a global manufacturing leader located in Phoenix, AZ.


Our client is a global MTO systems & infrastructure manufacturer looking for an Engineering Manager with full responsibility for capex, design and manufacturing engineering controls including safety, quality, manufacturing performance.



Responsibilities


Site & Operational Leadership Relationships

  • Monitor day-to-day activities operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production aligned with customer commitments.
  • Maintain accountability for manufacturing output, schedule adherence, capacity planning, and operational execution.
  • Serve as the senior leader on site, setting expectations for performance, behavior, and results.
  • Driving financial and operational improvement at a minimum of 10% year over year.



Principle accountability/Staffing

  • Drive a team of up to 10 supporting the USA sites including EU as required.
  • Create smart goals with near term and strategic goals to create an environment of step function improvements in the organization.
  • Support annual operating budgets, forecasts, and cost‑control initiatives.
  • Deliver productivity improvements and Lean‑driven cost reductions.
  • Lead annual CAPEX planning and execution.
  • Drive Statistical process control utilization for processes to determine end result performance. Educate the customer of internal performance against longevity of finished goods performance.



Workforce & Engagement

  • Build a high‑performance engineering team that designs and produces with manufacturability the primary goal.
  • Lead customers to more standard approaches to provide the same level of performance.
  • Partner with HR and Union leadership on staffing and labor relations.
  • Drive engagement, communication, and accountability with all direct reports.
  • Lead by example and use a coaching mentoring approach to improve overall performance.



Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, safety, and quality to improve manufacturability. Include organizations outside of exhaust bring in new ideas and approaches.
  • Ensure designs support labor and material efficiency, while looking to strategically standardize or template processes
  • Working gross factory standardization globally.




Qualifications


  • 5-10 years engineering leadership in design/manufacturing experience in multifunctional disciplines
  • Proven success in process control and SPC, Statistical process control by means of DOE, Design of Experiments, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong establishment of Standards in an MOT, Make to Order environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder
