Engineering Manager – Manufacturing & Estimation

Trillium Professional is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our clients estimators, manufacturing engineers, planners, and tool crib operations. This is a full time opportunity working out of their Milpitas, CA facility. This role is critical in driving efficient manufacturing processes, accurate cost estimation, and overall profitability while supporting new product development and production excellence.

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of manufacturing planning—from cost estimation to process development—ensuring parts are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, and Quality teams while also engaging with customers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators, engineers, planners, and tool crib staff
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance management, and compensation recommendations
  • Ensure accurate and timely cost estimates aligned with profitability goals
  • Define and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Develop and standardize routing, tooling, and production methods
  • Support new product development and engineering-driven product realization
  • Manage departmental budgets and authorize overtime as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Production, and Quality teams
  • Interface with customers and vendors on technical and manufacturing requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3–5+ years of engineering leadership experience in semiconductor or aerospace environments
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost estimation, and process optimization
  • Experience with quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Solid understanding of business, finance, and operational principles
  • Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semiconductor OEM product design requirements
  • Knowledge of aerospace/satellite heater and cable products
  • Background in materials or design engineering
  • Experience in finance, procurement, or marketing functions

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Combination of office and production floor environment
  • Domestic and international travel required
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
