Primary purpose of the position

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent is accountable for all plant engineering activities including successful product/project launch, process, tooling and manufacturing activities for MPA .Provides technical support to the Business Units in the areas of Manufacturing, Quality, Facility Improvements and Preventative Maintenance activities.


Responsibilities

  • Overall responsible to all Tooling matters to ensure continuous improvement in tool life, scrap, machine capability and good piece uptime.
  • Responsible for program management engineers. Plans, conducts and directs engineering projects to support manufacturing processes, product launches and tooling necessitating the application of engineering knowledge.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support in developing processes and procuring the necessary equipment tooling and fixtures
  • Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement by reviewing objectives and targets and internal/external customer concerns, reviewing audit results and EMS programs and elements and establishing action items and recommendations in accordance with ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Ensure the participation of all engineering disciplines in APQP as well as develop and implement APQP plans as per quality database standards


Qualifications


  • University Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Progressive manufacturing experience including engineering related work in tooling and project management.
  • Significant project management experience
  • Project Management Designation, PMP/Prince 2
  • Be familiar with TS16949,APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA ,SPC & Control plan,.
  • Know the ethical and legal obligations outlined in the Engineering Code of Ethics
  • Understanding of the OH&S Act and Regulations as well as legislative and customer requirements for item specifications.
  • Knowledge and adherence to relevant procedures and legislation.
  • Ability to Travel.
