For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $68,000 - $102,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.  

 

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.  ATS  Applications Engineer I provides foundational technical support to Sales teams and internal stakeholders, ensuring appropriate product selection, application accuracy, and successful order execution. This role supports the sales process through technical expertise, proposal development, and cross-functional collaboration. As an individual contributor, you apply core engineering knowledge to routine application challenges while developing deeper product and systems expertise. This position is well-suited for employees looking to grow their technical skillset, expand sales-facing experience, and build a strong foundation in product applications engineering. What will you do: 
  • Provide consistent, responsive technical support to the Field Sales Organization for Transfer Switch and communications products.
  • Review customer plans, specifications, and application requirements to confirm product conformance and feasibility.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotation packages, and bills of material for standard and custom applications.
  • Support order processing by interpreting application requirements and coordinating with Engineering, Production Planning, Shipping, Credit, and other internal teams.
  • Assist with basic product demonstrations, technical training sessions, and sales support activities.
  • Respond to routine technical inquiries and support initial feasibility assessments.
  • Support resolution of order-related issues, including billing inquiries, delivery challenges, and emergency parts replacement coordination.
  • Assist Sales with basic competitive technical and pricing analysis.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to communicate customer needs, product feedback, and application considerations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, follow up on quotations, and provide reports on quote and order activity as needed.
  • Remain current on product updates, internal tools, and industry trends.
  • Apply a lean mindset to improve efficiency and reduce waste through continuous improvement.
  • Participate in training programs and limited travel, as required.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Visio and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Prior exposure to ASCO products, particularly Automatic Transfer Switches, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a technical support, applications, sales engineering, or order management role.
  • Central New Jersey location preferred; remote work flexibility available based on business needs.
