The WSP Aviation team is seeking an experienced Airfield Civil Engineer within our Indian office. The primary function of this role will be to support the Airfield Principal Engineer, however there will be potential to become a Senior Airfield Civil Engineer as the GCC Airfield Engineering team grows and develops. The successful candidate will be among one of the first members of this team and will form a crucial role in its growth and development. The Airfield Civil Engineer will be responsible in supporting delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects through various stages of design from feasibility/ option studies to detailed design and onto construction for various clients both in the UK and overseas.

The candidate will be required to:

  • Act as a Civil Airfield Engineer for airfield civil engineering projects. 

  • Take ownership in the production of technical designs whilst giving technical leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers in the team.
  • Undertake the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications related to the delivery of airfield engineering projects in both the UK and overseas.
  • Contribute towards technical design reviews as required to meet the WSP quality management requirements.

  • Read and accurately interpret, review, amend and reproduce engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.

  • Ability to manage drawing registers and revision control processes.

  • Respond to client directions in a professional and customer focused manner and to develop and maintain relationships with clients, peers and others who are influential in providing future business. 

  • Actively participate in the design and take ownership in providing technical input to the design team throughout the full design process.

  • Effectively and confidently communicate and coordinate designs with team members, industry associates and Clients as required. 
  • Identify and support in the management of design risks, issues and Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Support the Principal Airfield Civil Engineer as directed by monitoring and contributing to the development of appropriate project controls, including change management, information management and document control. 
  • Follow the technical quality requirements, address the project brief and meet client deadlines.

  • Champion excellent health and safety in design.
