EMT Program Director

Clark County Fire District 5 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program Director! This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee program operations, ensure instructional quality, and maintain vital inter-agency relationships.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities
· Manage daily operations and instructional quality of the EMT Program
· Ensure compliance with WA state health department guidelines for EMT certification
· Perform administrative tasks (emails, paperwork, scheduling, coordination) and maintain program accreditation
· Act as liaison to local Fire Department and local College
· Coordinate clinical experiences with agency stakeholders and ensure course applicants meet prerequisites
· Develop industry contacts, student handbook, course syllabus, quizzes, and tests
· Schedule and oversee a team of instructors, addressing concerns and providing advice as needed
· Monitor instructor credentials, conduct yearly EMS Evaluator courses, and represent the program at public events
· Handle recruitment, hiring, and separation of instructors, stepping in as a lecture or lab instructor when needed
Program Liaison Responsibilities
· Maintain inter-agency contracts with American Medical Response (AMR), as well as local Vancouver Fire department and Clark College
· Conduct regular audits of contracts and policies
· Manage communication between the EMT program and clinical sites regarding student and personnel conduct
· Participate in Advisory Committee meetings and community health events
· Perform yearly program outcome assessments
Recruitment and Program Development Responsibilities:
· Recruit and interview diverse instructors from local agencies to ensure program diversity and provide students with networking opportunities
· Attend bi-monthly council meetings to present program metrics, such as NREMT pass rates, graduation numbers, and job placement statistics
· Participate in EMS Education updates workshops and collaborate with other Senior EMS Instructors (SEI) on system improvements
· Oversee program development and maintain the Senior EMS Instructor credential, including ongoing training, monitoring of SEI candidates, and coordination of initial EMT courses
Qualifications:
· Senior EMS Instructor (SEI) Certification required (Must have completed or currently working on completion of certification by Fall of 2026)
· Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification
· BLS CPR Instructor Certification
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience and currently certified as an EMT or Paramedic in the state of Washington with private ambulance company, Fire Department or Fire District
