Under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse, assist in meeting the patients’ needs for treatment to include taking vitals, cleaning wounds, assisting with surgical procedures such as suturing or other duties as required by the physician or nurse.
Supports the smooth operation of the department by performing tasks associated with general unit organization, maintaining department supplies, and clerical duties as needed.
Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors.
Assists with transportation of patients in and out of the ICU, ED, transportation to Radiology and in case of admission transport to patient’s room.
Initiates and maintains the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient’s environment, and the unit environment.
Performs or assists with performing nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, or snacks).
May be floated to other hospital departments as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or GED
Phlebotomy, or CNA, or EMT certification, or 1-year clinical experience
