🚨 Embedded Systems Engineer | Climate Robotics / Hardtech

📍 Berkeley, CA

💰 $110k–$150k + equity

 U.S. permanent work authorisation required

I’m supporting an early-stage climate robotics company building intelligent robotic systems that operate in the real world.

Their technology supports land restoration, flood defence, disaster recovery, and critical infrastructure resilience.

They’re looking for a hands-on Embedded Systems Engineer who can work across firmware, electronics, PCB design, wireless systems, embedded Linux, and field debugging.

This is not a narrow firmware-only role.

The right person will be comfortable taking systems from schematic to prototype to production, then helping debug and improve them in the field.

Relevant experience could include:

• Embedded C/C++

• STM32 / ARM Cortex-M / ESP32 / RP2040

• FreeRTOS or Zephyr

• Altium / KiCad / mixed-signal PCB design

• Sensors, radios, and power electronics

• CAN / SPI / I²C / UART / SDIO

• LoRa / XBee / low-power wireless systems

• Yocto / OpenEmbedded

• Hardware bring-up, testing, validation, DFM/DFT

• SWD / JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analysers

• Field debugging of robotic or deployed hardware systems

Ideal backgrounds include robotics, aerospace, defence tech, drones, autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, or complex hardware products.

The company is particularly interested in people from high-bar hardtech environments such as SpaceX, Zipline, Anduril, Formlabs, or similar.

This role will suit someone who genuinely enjoys building physical systems, likes solving hard real-world problems, and wants early-stage ownership rather than a narrow corporate engineering lane.

Interested or know someone who could be a fit?
