Job Description

I am hiring for a client that is looking for an Electronic Repair Engineer to repair, upgrade, modify, and verify subcomponents of complex automatic, logic‑controlled electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment at the component level.

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing to the component level
• Performing complex failure analysis and diagnostics
• Using advanced test and diagnostic equipment
• Performing calibrations traceable to the National Bureau of Standards
• Improvising circuits or equipment for specialized needs
• Independently managing assigned projects
• Operating, adjusting, and maintaining complex instrumentation
• Working in high‑pressure environments with shifting priorities
• Following safe working procedures at all times

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 3–4 years of directly related electro‑mechanical experience
• Strong component‑level troubleshooting ability
• Ability to interpret electrical datasheets and terminology
• Proficient soldering and de‑soldering skills, including:
• Surface Mount
• Ball Grid Array (BGA)
• High‑density components
• Prior experience repairing hardware systems preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Nice to Have Skills

• High‑power DC supply repair, testing, and calibration (1kW–80kW)
• AC and DC servo/stepper motor rebuild and testing
• Embedded systems hardware/firmware (CPLD, FPGA, MPU, etc.)
• Senior‑level experience with AC/DC circuitry and advanced test equipment
• Simulation and design tools: LabVIEW, Python, Multisim, Cadence, or similar
• Hardware programming languages: VHDL, Verilog, JTAG
