Electromechanical Technician

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and plant electrical systems. This role supports reliable production by maintaining controls, electronics, motors, drives, and power-transmission equipment, and by performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
  • Design, install, and maintain control panels, electrical systems, and HMI interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and support motor controls, VFDs, servo drives, and related equipment.
  • Perform electrical and electronic diagnostics, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain and service plant electrical distribution systems, including switchgear.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain equipment records, including barrel and screw inventory and maintenance history.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal training in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Minimum three (3) years of industrial electrical, electronics, automation, or maintenance experience.
  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
