Title: Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

Position Brief:
The Chatham Group Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Firm is seeking qualified candidates for an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician for a client in the advanced materials and specialty packaging manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proactive and preventative maintenance operations for a high efficiency manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the rapid troubleshooting and repair of failures in plant manufacturing equipment for issues with electrical systems, control systems (PLC), motors, and other mechanical components. You use your root cause diagnostic ability to solve problems while using this experience to develop long term corrective action and preventative maintenance programs to reduce future incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, proactive and preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs on production floor equipment
- Troubleshoot electronic systems, control systems/PLCs, motors, pumps, compressors, chillers, and other electromechanical components
- Maintain database of equipment schematics and technical documentation
- Diagnose root cause of failure and institute a Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigation plan with quality assurance team
- Maintain inventory of spare parts for repairs
- Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate components for repair/modification if necessary
- Lead electrical safety and Lockout Tagout LOTO procedure to prevent accidents/incidents
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of industrial/electromechanical maintenance experience either in a high efficiency high speed manufacturing or military environment
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, and schematics
- Strong background in electric motor diagnostics
- Direct experience with container manufacturing technologies such as extruders, thermoformers, laminators, converters, industrial printers, etc is a big plus
- Ability to work 12 hour night shift, typically 7 days every two weeks (which can include some weekends if thats how the production schedule works out) with overtime if necessary
Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.
