Yank Technologies, Inc. is a wireless power startup in Brooklyn, New York. We develop long-range, high power wireless charging technology. Safe. Simple. No contact required. With patented antenna and amplifier developments in resonant inductive technology, we provide a scalable solution for variable ranges of power and distances. We have multiple mobility, industrial, and space customers for a range of applications, such as wirelessly charging robotic vehicles and vehicle interior electronics.
The Electromagnetic Engineer will design, analyze, and improve our electromagnetic systems for wireless power applications. This role is hands-on and will involve custom magnetics, EMC analysis, and coil design for near-field wireless charging applications. It will involve a lot of cross-discipline and cross-functional working with other team members. Reporting to the CTO, this leader will have a very early hands-on experience to lead the growth of a startup in the wireless charging ecosystem across a wide range of future products that greatly impact people’s lives.
Competitive compensation includes a base salary, healthcare benefits, and stock options in the company.
The primary responsibilities of the Electromagnetic Engineer are as follows:
- Lead system-level EMC analysis for key product verticals advancing into production
- Lead custom magnetics design for high power density converters
- Develop and implement new coil designs based on intrinsic ‘Q’ or quality factor, directivity, packaging, impedance, and other application specific requirements
- Analyze wireless systems for different operational environments (i.e., coil coupling patterns, wide load conditions, and other important full system criteria)
- Routinely update the CTO on project status, project improvements, and other recommendations
Qualifications Required
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of full-time experience in magnetics design
- Expert in inductor modeling software tools, such as CST and Ansys
- Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, analyzing, debugging, and manufacturing custom magnetics
- Experience designing planar magnetics
- Experience with high frequency applications (i.e., 6.78MHz & 13.56MHz)
- Excellent oral and written communication
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, make effective and timely decisions, solve problems, and facilitate organizational and procedural changes
- Passion for creating a wireless world where the state of your battery is not a concern but a mere afterthought
Qualifications Preferred
- PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Prior experience in automotive, power tools, or aerospace industries
- Prior experience in high power density applications
- Prior experience leading other engineering team members
