Akkodis is seeking a for an Electromechanical Technician II at Location: Grand Prairie, TX for a contract Duration: 06+Months with potential to Direct hire conversion.


Pay Range: $33/h- $35/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Position Summary

The Electromechanical Technician II is a mid-level technical role responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical systems and components used in aerospace and defense applications.

This position requires hands-on technical skills in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, with the ability to work under moderate supervision while supporting production, repair, and testing activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate electromechanical assemblies and subcomponents
  • Perform functional testing and basic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems

Interpret and follow:

  • Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Work orders and technical documentation
  • Conduct inspection, repair, and rework of components to meet quality standards
  • Use diagnostic and test equipment, including:
  • Multimeters
  • Basic oscilloscopes
  • Torque tools and measurement instruments
  • Support failure analysis and issue resolution with guidance from senior technicians or engineers
  • Maintain accurate documentation in ERP/MES systems

Ensure compliance with:

  • Quality standards (AS9100 / ISO)
  • Safety requirements (OSHA)
  • ESD handling procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency efforts


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (technical certification or Associate degree preferred)

2–5 years of experience in:

  • Electromechanical assembly, testing, or repair
  • Manufacturing, aerospace, or related technical environments

Ability to:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Perform hands-on mechanical assembly and basic electrical troubleshooting

Experience with:

  • Wiring, connectors, harnesses, and mechanical components
  • Standard hand tools and electronic test equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, avionics, or defense manufacturing

Familiarity with:

  • FAA or regulated environments
  • IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)

Certifications:

  • IPC soldering certification
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
  • Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement methodologies


Technical Competencies

Foundational knowledge of:

  • Electrical circuits and wiring systems
  • Mechanical assemblies and hardware

Ability to:

  • Troubleshoot at system and subassembly level (with guidance)
  • Execute standardized test procedures

Understanding of:

  • Quality inspection methods
  • Basic root cause analysis concepts

Level Differentiation (Why Level 2)

  • Works independently on routine tasks but requires support for complex troubleshooting
  • Handles standard assemblies and repairs, not deep component-level diagnostics
  • Typically supports higher-level technicians (Level 3+) on advanced issues


Work Environment

  • Production / manufacturing floor and repair lab
  • Hands-on work with precision tools and electronics

May require:

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Lifting up to 25–50 lbs
  • Fine motor skills for detailed assembly
