Skills Required
Primary (Must-Have):
- Experience with facility maintenance and repair activities
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Experience performing building inspections and preventative maintenance
- Ability to generate, track, and close work orders and compliance tasks
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, hoists, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment
- Experience supporting facility upgrades, retrofits, and equipment installations
- Strong knowledge of facility systems and maintenance best practices
- Ability to work with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Experience with shipping, receiving, packaging, and material handling activities
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Secondary (Good to Have):
- Experience supporting engineering teams with tooling fabrication and testing
- Experience with custom crate fabrication and shipment preparation
- Knowledge of facility compliance and safety requirements
- Experience procuring materials and coordinating vendor pickups
- Mechanical and electrical repair experience in industrial environments
Position Overview
- The Facility Technician is responsible for performing facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure minimal site downtime and reliable operation of facility systems. This role supports electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance activities while assisting engineering teams, contractors, and vendors with equipment installation, testing, and facility improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, facility maintenance experience, and the ability to support a wide range of operational activities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance of HVAC systems
- Conduct internal and external building inspections and facility upkeep activities
- Generate, review, track, perform, and close site work orders and compliance calendar items
- Support shipping and receiving operations including custom crate fabrication, loading, unloading, and packaging of materials
- Operate heavy machinery including overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and boom lifts
- Perform retrofits and upgrades to existing facility equipment and systems
- Support tool and test engineers with tooling fabrication, assembly, functional testing, and validation activities
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and facility maintenance vendors to support operational requirements
- Assist with procurement activities and vendor material pickups as needed
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facility operations and maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Technical Certification, or equivalent experience
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting facility systems
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- Experience operating industrial equipment and material handling machinery
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial facility environments
- Knowledge of facility compliance, safety, and maintenance standards
- Experience supporting engineering, testing, or production teams
- Forklift, boom lift, or other equipment certifications preferred
- Strong communication and vendor coordination skills
