Group Lead – Electrical Systems

Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $146,000 – $174,000/yr


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Group Lead – Electrical Systems to manage and develop a team of engineers supporting aircraft design, systems integration, and certification efforts. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and hands-on engineering expertise in aerospace electrical systems and EWIS.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers to meet project goals and performance metrics
  • Assign work, oversee productivity, and ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Drive hiring, performance management, and team development
  • Maintain a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused work environment

Project & Operations Oversight

  • Plan and manage short- and long-term workloads and team capacity
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders
  • Support coordination of contractor resources and overall team execution

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in electrical systems and EWIS
  • Provide guidance on system design, analysis, and certification activities
  • Contribute to engineering work as needed

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a key point of contact across internal teams, customers, and leadership
  • Lead team meetings and participate in organizational planning
  • Ensure alignment with company standards, safety, and regulatory requirements


Required Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of aerospace engineering experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineers

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace electrical systems and EWIS, including:
  • Power systems architecture (ATA 24), system sizing, and performance analysis
  • Energy storage and power distribution
  • EMI/EMC, HIRF, and system separation
  • Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)
  • Engineering design tools (2D/3D, MBSE, simulation)
