Job Description

The Electrical Foreman (Traveling) oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings, ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. This role combines hands-on electrical work with leadership in the field, requiring the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams while coordinating tasks in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in commercial buildings in accordance with NEC and local codes.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site electrical activities, working independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute electrical installations.
  • Run and install wire and conduit efficiently, ensuring proper routing, support, and secure connections.
  • Perform precise conduit bending, including bends greater than 90 degrees and three-point saddles, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation of systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and proficiently to complete daily tasks.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures and protocols, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work productively in a production-based environment, maintaining high quality standards while meeting performance expectations.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and site personnel to coordinate work, resolve issues, and report progress.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in tight or elevated spaces.
  • Document work as required and ensure completed installations are code-compliant and ready for inspection.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of electrical experience, with a strong focus on commercial electrical work.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience running wire and conduit in commercial environments.
  • Proficiency in bending conduit, including bends greater than 90 degrees and three-point saddles, with speed and accuracy suited to a production-based job.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical and building regulations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency with standard electrical hand tools and power tools used in commercial construction.
  • Physical strength and stamina to climb ladders, lift and move equipment, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills for coordinating work and resolving on-site challenges.
  • Ability to travel to various jobsites and reliably work the assigned schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with weekend work as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on commercial construction projects from rough-in through trim-out.
  • Demonstrated ability to work quickly and efficiently in a production-focused environment while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure installations are neat, organized, and fully code-compliant.
  • Ownership of a basic bag of hand tools suitable for commercial electrical work, such as hand tools commonly carried in a backpack.
  • Willingness to travel and work at different commercial jobsites as project needs require.

Work Environment

This position is based on commercial construction sites and operational commercial buildings, with work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Typical hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday work as needed to meet project demands. The work is physically demanding and may involve standing for long periods, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying materials and equipment, and working in tight or elevated spaces. The environment is safety-focused, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and consistent use of personal protective equipment, including a Type 2 hard hat, high-visibility vest, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear. Electricians are expected to bring and use their own basic hand tools, often carried in a backpack or similar tool bag, and to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jonesboro, AR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
