Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects, analyzing drawings and specifications, and working closely with project managers and clients to support successful bids. Your expertise will play a key role in driving profitability and company growth.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop detailed electrical estimates
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare accurate cost proposals
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Ensure estimates comply with NEC (National Electrical Code) and industry standards
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential risks
- Collaborate with project management to align budgets, schedules, and contract requirements
- Assist with change orders and cost tracking as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience estimating residential and/or commercial electrical projects
- Strong proficiency with estimating software such as Conest, Accubid, McCormick,Electrical Bid Manager
- Solid understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of labor productivity and construction cost controls
- Field experience or hands-on electrical background is highly preferred
