Job Title: Electrical Engineer (RF Focus)

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)



  1. Conduct RF and microwave testing in R&D labs to evaluate power delivery performance, troubleshoot issues, and validate new concepts and feasibility studies
  2. Design and develop RF/microwave components for semiconductor equipment, including high-power generators, matching networks, filters, and tuning elements (2 MHz–2.45 GHz)
  3. Develop innovative engineering solutions for complex product challenges, including system architecture, specifications, and subsystem design
  4. Perform system-level integration, testing, and troubleshooting of RF subsystems within semiconductor tools, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and reliability
  5. Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to resolve technical issues, define requirements, and ensure delivery of high-quality components


Key Responsibilities

• Run tests in the R&D technology lab to assess RF and microwave power delivery performance, trouble shoot problems and perform Concept & Feasibility tests for possible improvements.

• Participate in the design and development of RF and microwave components for semiconductor equipment, which includes high-power generators (up to 6), matching networks, filters, or other tuning elements, with frequencies ranging from 2MHz to 2.45GHz.

• Develop and implement concepts for a wide range of complex product issues and engineering solutions.

• Interface with internal and external customers regarding complex electrical issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products.

• Write detailed specifications that cover all aspects of subsystem modules including interfaces to the product by using systems analysis to create a diagram. Create concepts for complex architectural design approaches.

• Support System Integration during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.

• Work with vendors to develop design requirements and ensure delivery of parts that meet specifications.


Requirements

• Understand principles and operation of network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power meters, directional couplers, and other radio-frequency test equipment.

• Knowledge of circuit theory and ability to develop analytical models of RF and microwave components

• Ability to fabricate or modify RF components to change their performance or enable access for instrumentation.

• Ability to instrument, characterize and troubleshoot RF and microwave sub-systems within larger semiconductor tool environment.

• Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of difficult, complex engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability and manufacturability.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders

• Self-starting individual, proactive and resourceful.
