Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Product Sustaining & Redesign

Location: Coopersburg, PA (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the redesign and sustainment of an existing high-impact consumer product used in premium hospitality environments. This role involves end-to-end ownership, including component redesign, testing, validation, and production implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product redesign efforts, including obsolete component replacement through production release
  • Act as a technical lead coordinating cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations)
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternative electrical components
  • Analyze required updates to PCB, schematics, firmware, or software
  • Develop and execute qualification and testing strategies
  • Perform electrical and environmental testing ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Define and execute production transition strategies (alpha, beta, gamma builds)
  • Collaborate with operations to update BOMs and support manufacturing implementation
  • Support early production runs and gather feedback from manufacturing teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Proven experience in product redesign or sustaining engineering
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design and schematic interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 120–277V lighting or building control systems
  • Familiarity with tools like Altium Designer, PSpice, Silicon Expert
  • Basic knowledge of programming (C#, VB, Python)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and DFM principles
