MajorDuties

  • As an Electrical Engineer (Maintenance), you will: Creates detailed electrical designs and drawings (or reviews the designs of others) for substation equipment and transmission line equipment repairs, replacements, and additions. Develops budget estimates, schedules and project initiation documents and participates in developing multi-year plans for power system replacement and improvements. Drafts technical specification paragraphs for outdoor electrical equipment and construction specifications using available standard guide paragraphs. Acts as a technical representative during commission and energization of new equipment or changeover from existing to replacement or additional control and relaying schemes. Provides technical advise and assistance to inspectors in the coordination of contractor's work with dispatching personnel for stage construction in energized substations to insure safety of personnel and equipment Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. This employer participates in the e-Verify program. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Security clearance and associated requirements- Moderate Risk . Shift work and emergency overtime may be required. The full performance level (FPL) of this position is GS-13.
