Electrical Designer
Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida
A fast-growing design & build contractor is seeking an Associate Electrical Designer to join its engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their design career to work on large-scale projects, gaining hands-on experience across electrical and mechanical systems within a highly collaborative environment.
You will play a key role in supporting the design and modelling of building systems, working alongside experienced engineers and Revit technicians to deliver high-quality, coordinated solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design of electrical and mechanical systems across large-scale construction projects
- Coordinate design solutions, balancing technical quality, client needs, and budget requirements
- Work closely with Revit/CADD technicians to develop and review models for accuracy and constructability
- Apply code knowledge to lighting, power, telecom, and fire alarm systems
- Perform photometric studies, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations
- Assist in reviewing drawings, submittals, and specifications
- Collaborate with wider engineering teams to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs
Requirements:
- Some experience in electrical and/or mechanical design (internship or professional)
- Basic knowledge of Revit/CADD systems
- Understanding of electrical codes such as NEC, IBC, IECC, and ASHRAE
- Ability to perform or learn electrical system calculations and photometric analysis
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, but not essential
