Location: Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (3 Days In‑Office / 2 Remote)

A growing consulting engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Designer to support complex building projects across higher education, healthcare, commercial, and industrial facilities. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where experienced designers are respected for their technical insight, attention to detail, and ability to contribute meaningfully throughout the design process.

In this role, you will support the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems, producing high‑quality construction documents while working closely with Project Managers and Senior Electrical Engineers. The position offers exposure to diverse project types, expanding technical challenges, and a clear path for professional growth.

• Provide electrical design and technical support for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems.
• Develop accurate, coordinated electrical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Senior Electrical Engineers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.
• Execute design tasks efficiently while maintaining quality, constructability, and code compliance.
• Support project delivery by meeting schedules, coordinating across disciplines, and contributing to team problem-solving.

• 1+ years of experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit in an electrical design or drafting capacity.
• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Electrical Systems Technology, or a related technical field.
• Strong technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically, accurately, and independently, while also collaborating within a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle and background record.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• 5+ years of experience designing power, lighting, and fire alarm systems in a consulting or engineering environment.
• Experience with arc flash analysis and coordination studies using SKM software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM for both drafting and analysis.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
• Strong interest in advancing a long-term career in electrical building systems design.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
