Summary
The Switchboard Engineer is responsible for engineering custom switchboard solutions, developing electrical designs and documentation, supporting production teams, and ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, and customer specifications. This role works closely with Sales, Product Management, and Manufacturing to deliver high‑quality, reliable power distribution products.
Responsibilities:
- Design 3D Sheet Metal Parts With Flat Patterns
- Complete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM)
- Create Wiring Diagrams Using PLCs, Breaker Accessories, Relays, Contactors, Power Supplies etc.
- Create & Understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line & Layout Drawings Using CAD Software
- Ensure Clear Communication Between Engineering, Manufacturing & Other Key Stakeholders
- Work In A Team Environment to Analyze Requirements From Clients & Develop Design Solutions
- Ensure Clear Communication With Suppliers/Vendors On As-Needed Basis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Similar
- Experience (Electro-Mechanical Industry Preferred)
- Proficiency In 2D & 3D CAD Software (Autodesk Suite preferred)
- Experience With UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558
- Experience Reading/Understanding National Electric Code
- Experience Sizing Conductors & OCPDs
- Experience With Control Circuits & Logic
