Job Title: Electrical Assembler III (1st Shift)
Job Description

The Electrical Assembler III supports the mechanical and electrical build of complex customer units in a clean, team-based production environment. This role focuses on point-to-point wiring, panel wiring, and electrical harness assembly using detailed schematics, diagrams, and visual aids. You will work primarily at a dedicated work cell, performing wiring, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure each large, intricate unit meets strict safety, quality, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of large units, including panel wiring, harness installation, and component mounting in accordance with safety, quality, and customer specifications.
  • Read, interpret, and follow wiring schematics, point-to-point diagrams, blueprints, and visual aids to complete wiring and assembly tasks accurately.
  • Pull, route, crimp, terminate, and install wires and electrical harnesses, ensuring proper labeling, alignment, and organization within panels and housings.
  • Conduct point-to-point electrical testing in real time using instruments such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to verify accurate wiring and identify issues.
  • Assemble finished units per customer specifications, including installing and testing wiring and wiring harnesses throughout the build process.
  • Perform part replacement on tools and equipment as needed and according to schedule to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Resolve routine questions and problems independently, referring more complex issues to higher-level team members or supervisors.
  • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions, including diagrams, schematics, and other visual aids, to complete assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with teammates in smaller group teams to organize and complete tasks that require multiple technicians within a work cell.
  • Keep inventory personnel informed of spare parts inventory levels and locations to support timely order fulfillment and production flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards and company procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to security and operational standards.
  • Work primarily in a dedicated cell unit, remaining local to that unit throughout the shift and wiring different sections according to client-specific blueprints.
  • Support the full build cycle of large units, which may involve installing thousands of wires over several weeks, performing point-to-point testing throughout the installation.
  • Move from one completed section of a unit to the next, ensuring each section is wired and tested for compliance before proceeding.
  • Participate in training sessions and apply learned safety practices, wiring standards, and testing protocols to daily work.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production goals and customer requirements.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience in electrical wiring and assembly, including working from wiring schedules, schematics, or visual aids (schooling experience may be considered in lieu of hands-on experience).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, point-to-point wiring diagrams, blueprints, and related technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, including panel wiring, harness installation, and mechanical assembly of components.
  • Ability to perform point-to-point electrical testing using test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters.
  • Skilled in pulling, routing, crimping, terminating, and landing wires and cables in panels and housings.
  • Experience using hand and power tools commonly used in electrical and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a production environment.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, and schematics with high accuracy.
  • Capability to work under direct, close supervision while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical schooling or vocational training in electrical wiring, electronics, industrial technology, or a related field (such as programs from technical colleges or trade schools) may be accepted in lieu of direct work experience.
  • Experience in avionics wiring, aircraft wiring, or as an A&P technician is highly relevant and transferable.
  • Background in the military involving wiring, diagnostics, or electrical maintenance is considered a strong match.
  • Experience as an electrical assembly technician, panel builder, or in industrial electrical production environments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with control panels, electronic assembly, and soldering practices is advantageous.
  • Experience working in a production or industrial environment with cell-based assembly teams.
  • Comfort working on large, intricate units that may be several feet in height and length and require extended build times.
  • Ability to interpret graphs and other technical documentation related to the role.
  • Willingness and ability to take and pass a required assessment prior to or during the hiring process.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills in a collaborative work cell setting.
