Our client is a leading Specialty Chemicals Manufacturer, a fantastic opportunity exists for an Electrical & Instrumentation Planner at their plant in Houston, TX (ship channel location).

Duties include
- Processes Instrument and Electrical work orders for the plant: assess work, establish plans, order and receive materials, schedule the work etc. using SAP and Excel for planning and scheduling for the site.
- Establishes Preventative Maintenance work plans for IEA equipment, both existing and new.
- Works with IEA Supervisor, IEA Maintenance Specialist and IEA Technicians as needed to troubleshoot IEA issues for planning and scheduling repairs.
- Actively participates in the work order Planning and Scheduling process, which includes morning and afternoon update meetings.
- Assists the IEA Maintenance Specialist in managing the plant interlock matrices and interlock testing procedures and documentation.
- Assists in maintaining IEA equipment files.
- Develops specification sheets for instruments, old and new.
- Has field time following up on IEA problems, immediate and longer term, and proposes action plans for improvement.
- Assists storeroom personnel by managing IEA spare equipment, inventory and off-site turnaround of repairs.
- Actively implements and maintains a high standard for IEA installations and repairs.
- Supports and participates in all required plant HSSE initiatives.
- Works with the IEA Maintenance Specialist as needed to oversee/supervise contract IEA crews as required.
- Fills in for other Maintenance roles as required for vacations, etc.
- Supports capital activities by participating in design reviews and ensuring the maintainability of new projects.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Experience required:
- 5+ years’ experience in IEA work in a chemical plant and/or refinery environment with proven expertise in planning, scheduling, and executing work. Must have instrumentation experience AND electrician experience and has worked as an IEA Technician and/or Planner.
- Working knowledge of applicable IEA codes, installation requirements and troubleshooting techniques
- Basic knowledge of the DCS/PLC programming environment and what it takes to troubleshoot and solve control problems
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize to accomplish goals
- Experience in implementing World Class Manufacturing concepts
- Computer knowledge: must be able to use Outlook and Excel and usable experience in SAP.
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

NCCER in Instrument and Electrical is desired
