Lafayette, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented E&I Designer for a full time position with a confidential client in Lafayette, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in electrical and instrumentation design to contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative, office-based environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AutoCAD, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality, cost-effective designs while supporting project teams from concept through completion.

Essential Duties:

• Understands drafting requirements for electrical and instrumentation systems.

• Adapts to client drafting standards and specifications for assigned projects.

• Designs systems according to established design guidelines and criteria.

• Ensures constructability, operability, and maintainability of designs.

• Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input for projects.

• Prepares detailed design drawings in accordance with engineering design requirements.

• Guides drafters and coordinates with Lead Designers to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.

• Maintains and organizes a Job Data Book containing all relevant project information.

• Reviews drawings for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards.

• Ensures all drawings are properly checked and backchecked.

• Prepares final drawing plots and copies for transmittal as part of project deliverables.

• Maintains awareness of project schedules and budgets.

• Assists with project audits as needed.

Requirements/Skills:

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in CAD preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of E&I design experience using AutoCAD.

• Strong understanding of facilities drawings, cable routing, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O lists, panel design, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, organized, creative, and detail-oriented with a solution-focused approach.

• Previous experience in Oil & Gas projects preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Office/sedentary work environment with occasional site visits required.
