Senior Manager, Electric Transmission


Location: Oakland, CA (on-site)

Compensation: Up to $263,000 annually


We’re partnering with a major electric utility to hire a Senior Manager, Electric Transmission to lead large-scale transmission infrastructure across a critical service territory. This is a senior engineering leadership role focused on grid reliability, modernization, and execution at scale.

Demand on the electrical grid is increasing rapidly due to EV adoption, AI-driven data centers, and long-term infrastructure investment. This role sits directly in the middle of those efforts, with real ownership over transmission line engineering, people leadership, and project execution.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading and developing electrical engineers supporting transmission systems
  • Overseeing execution of large-scale transmission and utility infrastructure projects
  • Ensuring designs meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards
  • Partnering closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams
  • Supporting emergency response efforts related to transmission system events


What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong utility or utility-adjacent experience
  • Hands-on background with transmission lines and large-scale infrastructure
  • Proven people management experience leading engineering teams
  • Comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leadership
  • Willingness to be on call for emergency events as needed


Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Advanced degree in Engineering
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams
  • Background working in regulated utility environments



Up to $263,000 per year annual salary.
