Position Overview:The EEG Technologist will independently perform routine and advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG and evoked potentials, in inpatient, outpatient, and critical care settings. The technologist ensures accurate data acquisition, patient safety, and adherence to VA clinical standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine and complex EEG studiesConduct evoked potential (EP) procedures (VEP, BAEP, SSEP, etc.)Perform EEGs in ICU, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settingsSupport longterm monitoring (LTM / video EEG)Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safetyApply electrodes using the international 1020 systemOperate, calibrate, and troubleshoot EEG/EP equipmentDocument findings and maintain accurate patient recordsCollaborate with Neurology, Epilepsy, ICU, ED, and OR teamsFollow VA protocols, infection control standards, and safety proceduresRequired Qualifications:BLS and ACLS required (AHA preferred)EEG certification through ABRET or AAETMinimum two (1) years of EEG experience (2 years preferred)Hospitalbased EEG experience (ICU, inpatient, outpatient)Ability to perform EEG procedures independentlyLongterm monitoring (LTM / video EEG) experienceHours of Operation: 0700 - 1530 or 0730 -1600 Some flexibility is important as there is opportunity for Overtime after hours and rare weekend days depending on caseload.
