This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
Serve as a high-level subject matter expert on the standards, accreditation, and strategic direction of Joint Professional Military Education. Demonstrate ability to navigate Joint Staff environment to support senior leaders, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS).
- Accreditation Oversight: As a JPME Accreditation process expert, ensure educational institutions meet statutory requirements and Joint Staff standards.
- Senior Leadership Support: Provide expert-level guidance and program support to senior DoD leaders (GO/FO and SES levels), draft position papers and recommend policy changes from a strategic perspective.
- Staff Coordination & Workflow: Manage complex organizational workflows and lead development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline Joint Staff actions.
- High-Level Facilitation: Plan, lead, and facilitate executive-level conferences, working groups, and project meetings involving diverse stakeholders across the Joint Force.
- Policy Analysis: Evaluate and provide recommendations on high-level policy documents, ensuring alignment with mission and organizational relationships of the Joint Staff, CCMDs, and Services.
- Technical Communication: Translate complex, highly technical educational and operational information into clear, actionable briefings for non-specialist senior executives.
- Travel may be required.
Requirements
Experience Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate successful performance in the following areas:
- JPME Expertise: Expert-level mastery of the JPME Accreditation process and Joint/Service educational procedures.
- Institutional Experience: Proven experience within the Joint Staff structure or a similar organization at the Field Grade (O-4 to O-6) or senior civilian equivalent level.
- Operational Knowledge: Deep understanding of joint and combined staffs’ organizations, functions, and formal staff procedures.
- Communication and Executive Presence: Expert-level interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical data to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to support and advise senior leaders (e.g., CJCS-level) on complex programs.
- Analytical Reasoning: Demonstrated competency in evaluating senior-level position papers and providing strategic recommendations.
- Organizational Management: Experience managing high-volume workflows and drafting formal SOPs.
- Event Facilitation: Proven track record of conducting successful working groups and professional conferences.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience
- Prior service (Field Grade officer level or civilian equivalent) and joint force experience with Joint and Service Professional Military Education and staff procedures is strongly preferred.
Clearance Requirements: Possesses and maintain TS/SCI
