Our bakeries are a hub of comfort and happiness in our Wegmans stores. As a member of our Bakery Department, you’ll work alongside a talented team responsible for the production and packaging of the breads, bagels, sweet treats, and other baked goods that make our customers’ day. Our fast-moving, people-first bakeries are the perfect place to let your passion for baking shine.

what will you do?

• Bake, produce, and package baked goods
• Provide incredible customer service and answer customer questions in a timely manner
• Ensure fresh and appealing displays by keeping cases and aisles clean and well-stocked
• Help maximize sales through effective procedures for stocking, rotating, and merchandising product on the sales floor and in the back rooms
• May help unload daily deliveries and stock cases, displays, and backroom coolers with new and existing inventory

Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Experience working in a Bakery; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to various work environments, including cold (33 – 55 degrees), freezing (-20 – 20 degrees) and hot temperatures (exceeds 85 degrees with work surfaces or equipment that exceeds 135 degrees). Basic tools and equipment used include common baking utensils and equipment, and oven.
