If you have a passion for healthcare and supporting others, we offer a Nursing Assistant Certification Program for full-time employees. We are actively hiring and training staff to join our NAC team. At Yakima Valley School, these roles are classified as Attendant Counselor positions and function in the capacity of an NAC.
We are currently hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will work in a residential setting, providing direct care and engaging individuals in therapeutic activities both on and off campus. You will collaborate with residents and their families to support choice, independence, and quality of life.

Some of what you'll do:- Actively engage in the daily lives of residents, building supportive and respectful relationships
- Provide direct care and support to promote independence and enhance daily living skills
- Assist with personal care needs, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support skill development in areas such as socialization, communication, safety, and household responsibilities
- Transport and escort residents to recreational activities, community outings, and medical appointments
- Implement Health Services Orders and individualized plans to support learning, independence, and overall well-being
- Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ physical, medical, or behavioral status, and respond to emergencies or challenging behaviors as needed
Who should apply?- Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) who enjoy engaging with residents and being part of their daily lives in a fun, supportive environment
OR
- Individuals interested in full-time employment while completing a Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) program under current CFR 483.35(d) 1135 Waiver guidelines*, who have at least one year of related experience or a high school diploma (or equivalent)
Desired skills, knowledge, and abilities:- Knowledge of behavior management principles and techniques, including skill development and support strategies
- Understanding of interdisciplinary team processes and individualized habilitation planning
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and verbally
- Skill in applying established care plans, procedures, and techniques to support resident goals
- Ability to work independently and carry out assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision
Additional information:- Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
- Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
