Job Summary: Under indirect supervision: transports ambulatory patients and personnel to and from Kaiser facilities; picks-up and delivers medical records, lab, x-ray and pharmacy materials; files, distributes and maintains patient charts.Essential Responsibilities:
Drives motor vehicle to transport ambulatory patients; picks-up and delivers medical records, x-ray film, pharmaceutical products, laboratory specimens or other materials to or from various Kaiser facilities.
Assists patients with embarking and disembarking from motor vehicles; loads and unloads items at proper location; ensures accuracy of deliver destination; completes required forms.
Follows delivery schedule to ensure timely delivery; reports any delays to supervisor or designee immediately.
Checks vehicle daily; maintains servicing requirements in accordance with manufacturer recommendations; ensures vehicle operates properly and within accepted safety standards at all times; keeps equipment washed and clean; reports abnormalities, accidents or emergencies to supervisor and/or responsible authority without delay; maintains vehicle maintenance log as assigned.
Performs variety of routine chart clerk duties according to established procedures; maintains security and confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
Maintains adequate levels of supplies.
Supports departmental and regional Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives; supports and participates in quality improvement projects.
Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care and/or service appropriate to age groups served.
Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide culturally sensitive care and/or service.
Basic Qualifications:Experience
Minimum one (1) year of driving experience.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
License, Certification, Registration
Driver's License (Hawaii)
Heartsaver CPR AED within 6 months of hire
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, oral communication,
Familiarity with city and rural routes.
Familiarity with Kaisers operational organization procedures.teamwork, and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum six (6) months of delivery/transport experience using vans and trucks.
