In this position, you will work at a Driver License Center, assisting customers with the application and update processes for their driver’s licenses or IDs. Your responsibilities will include welcoming customers, verifying their identification, guiding them through form completion, and inputting their data into the computer system. You will also conduct vision tests and administer written knowledge exams to confirm that applicants are familiar with driving regulations and traffic signs. Additionally, you will respond to customer inquiries and provide the necessary forms, brochures, and instructions tailored to each individual's situation.
It is essential to have a solid understanding of various services, such as REAL ID, license renewals, duplicates, out-of-state transfers, motorcycle licenses, and commercial driver’s licenses. You will be responsible for entering test results, preparing letters for restoration requirements, and ensuring that fee waivers are properly documented. The role also involves adhering to customer service policies, REAL ID regulations, and Title VI requirements, as well as issuing and scanning special forms for non-U.S. citizens. Ultimately, your goal is to deliver accurate, efficient, and respectful service to all customers.
