Job Description

The CAD Technician will play a pivotal role in assisting technical teams composed of detailers, designers, and engineers to develop world-class designs across a variety of projects. This position is instrumental in crafting computer-aided drafting design solutions, ensuring high-quality and precise designs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare new drawings and revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
  • Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
  • Comply with the drafting practices of selected disciplines.
  • Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
  • Utilize standard drafting detail programs to assist with tasks.
  • Engage in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
  • Research solutions to project concerns and present solutions to design problems.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma/GED with coursework in drafting technology.
  • Basic knowledge of commands in at least one CAD program, with occasional use of higher-level commands, time-saving programs, and routines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in computer-aided drafting/design preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in multiple CAD systems preferred, including 3D and BIM.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and develop within the field.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and budget.

Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative and team-oriented, providing opportunities to utilize various CAD systems and Microsoft Office programs. The role requires adherence to drafting standards and procedures, and involves engaging with innovative and challenging projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
