THE MISSIONAs K2's Distribution Mobility Planner, you'll be the orchestrator behind complex distribution and transportation operations that keep critical missions moving. You'll synchronize movement of personnel, equipment, materials, and assets across distribution networks, ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery when the stakes are high.Working with internal teams, carriers, field operations, and external stakeholders, you'll develop executable movement plans, resolve constraints, and maintain visibility across the distribution lifecycle. Your planning expertise will directly impact operational success in dynamic environments where adaptability is everything.WHAT YOU'LL DOCoordinate end-to-end distribution and mobility planning for deployment, redeployment, sustainment, and retrograde operationsDevelop movement plans for self-deploying and lift-supported assets, including personnel, equipment, and cargoSynchronize transportation activities across internal teams, external carriers, ports, terminals, and logistics partnersMaintain situational awareness of available transportation capacity, lift capabilities, routing options, and infrastructure constraintsContinuously refine plans during execution to respond to changing operational requirements, delivery timelines, and network disruptionsConduct feasibility assessments of transportation options, including internal fleet, common-user transportation, third-party logistics providers, and strategic lift resourcesIdentify movement constraints such as staging limitations, asset shortfalls, infrastructure bottlenecks, hazardous conditions, or bed down restrictions, and recommend mitigation actionsUse planning, modeling, simulation, and data analysis tools to optimize routing, throughput, and delivery sequencingSupport in-transit visibility by tracking personnel, cargo, and equipment throughout the transportation network and resolving delays or exceptionsBalance competing demands for distribution assets and develop deconfliction strategies aligned to operational prioritiesCoordinate with planners, operations teams, and stakeholders to validate movement requirements, schedules, and execution dataEnsure timely delivery of logistics support to meet required delivery dates and service-level expectationsPrepare reports, dashboards, and planning updates for leadership and operational stakeholdersSupport emergency response, surge operations, network recovery, and other high-tempo logistics initiatives as neededWHAT YOU BRINGBachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (equivalent relevant experience considered)5+ years of experience in logistics planning, transportation operations, distribution planning, mobility planning, or supply chain coordinationExperience coordinating complex transportation or movement activities across multiple stakeholders and locationsStrong understanding of multimodal transportation, distribution operations, routing, scheduling, and capacity planningExperience using transportation management systems, ERP platforms, tracking tools, or logistics planning systemsAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency with Excel and reporting toolsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teamsAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting prioritiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Transportation, or related fieldExperience in utility operations, transportation planning, large-scale logistics, emergency response mobilization, or defense-related deployment planningFamiliarity with tools such as SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Cargo Wise, Power BI, Tableau, GIS platforms, or simulation/modeling softwareKnowledge of DOT, FMCSA, TSA, OSHA, IATA, IMO, customs, or hazardous materials compliance requirementsExperience supporting time-phased movement planning, large-scale mobilizations, or complex field operationsFamiliarity with JOPES, TPFDD, ULN validation, force flow planning, or coordination with USTRANSCOM or similar organizationsAPICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certificationPMP certificationLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltHazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods certificationDefense deployment planning system trainingSecurity clearance (if required by contract or program)CDL or other transportation credential (if role-specific)WHY K2At K2, you'll tackle mission-critical challenges alongside world-class professionals who demand excellence from themselves and their teammates.
