Husson University’s School of Physical therapy invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Professor position in the School of Physical Therapy to begin August 2026. The preferred candidate will have the professional experience and scholarly record that supports appointment as a Distinguished Professor. This position recognizes substantial achievement in research, teaching, and professional leadership. Candidates with less experience may apply at the associate/assistant level. Primary program teaching needs are in motor control, motor learning, and pediatrics, although applicants with expertise in biomechanics, kinesiology, neuroscience, orthopedics or other movement science areas will also be considered.
The Distinguished Professor will play a key leadership role in advancing the academic mission of the school of Physical Therapy and the College of Health by mentoring faculty involved in research and strengthening interdisciplinary research and clinical collaborations across the institution and community.
The successful candidate will contribute to a program grounded in experiential, student-centered learning and committed to preparing practice-ready, ethically grounded physical therapists. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, maintain an active scholarly agenda, and participate in service at the program, school, and university levels. The ideal candidate will be eligible for PT licensure in Maine; individuals who are not physical therapists may be considered when their academic background aligns with program and institutional needs.

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching graduate-level courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in areas aligned with the candidate’s expertise and the curricular needs of the program
