Dispatcher (Healthcare Support) – On-Site | Washington, DC

We are currently seeking a Dispatcher to support a fast-paced healthcare operations team in Washington, DC. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term growth within a well-established hospital environment.


Overview

In this role, you will serve as a key point of coordination between departments, ensuring smooth communication and timely response to service requests. You will handle high-volume inbound calls and dispatch requests to appropriate teams such as Environmental Services (EVS) and Materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality customer service with strong attention to detail
  • Answer and triage a high volume of inbound calls
  • Dispatch service requests to appropriate internal teams
  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure timely response and completion of tasks
  • Monitor and manage daily sign-in/out processes
  • Maintain accurate records and perform basic data entry
  • Support infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of customer service or call center experience
  • Strong phone presence and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and data entry experience

Preferred:

  • Dispatching or coordination experience
  • Healthcare or hospital environment experience
  • Front desk or patient-facing experience
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Location: On-site in Washington, DC
  • Office setting with a small team (2–3 staff members)
  • High call volume and collaborative team environment
  • Must be comfortable commuting via metro or shuttle (limited parking options available)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $21.00 – $22.00 per hour
  • Overtime: Eligible at 1.5x pay
  • Employment Type: 6-month contract-to-hire

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
